Shop the Look: Faidherbe

Designing a home is all about finding the right balance between function, style, and comfort. For our Faidherbe project, we focused on creating a modern, inviting space with thoughtful details and practical pieces. Here’s a look at the key elements we chose and how they come together to make this apartment feel both elegant and livable.

We wanted the entryway to feel warm and welcoming, with a touch of sophistication. The Tile Door sconce by Violaine d’Harcourt does just that with its clean design and linear cut-out motif. On the ceiling, we added the LOLO lamp by Axel Chay, a unique piece that catches the eye without being overwhelming. To light up the hallway, we chose the Pierre wall lights by Serax, which give off a soft, inviting glow. Small details make a big difference, so we upgraded the closet doors with Ava knobs in gold from La Quincaillerie. It’s a simple yet elegant touch that ties everything together.

In the kitchen, we went with a trio of statement suspension lamps—Rituals 1, Rituals 2, and Rituals 3 from Foscarini—hanging over the island. Their unique shapes and soft light add interest without taking over the space. To highlight the back wall, we added two handmade cement sconces, The Joseph from Zuri, which bring a touch of artisanal charm.

For the hardware, we kept it sleek with Benny Or handles from La Quincaillerie. The island bar stools are from the NY11 collection by NORR11 in smoked oak, chosen for their classic yet modern look. The dining table is an extendable oak piece, the Fusion Table from Bolia, designed by Michael H. Nielsen, paired with Kite chairs by Studio Nooi for a cohesive, functional dining area. We completed the space with the bold Duo wall light from Aromas, which adds a bit of drama to the dining nook.

In the living space, comfort and character were key. The Desert Arm Chair by Ferm Living is a simple yet stylish piece that offers both. We added a white cement stool from The Cool Republic as a functional accent, and a travertine coffee table from Kasbah Design to ground the seating area.

The Aromas Coss wall sconce from Aromas del Campo brings in a sculptural lighting element, while a small table light by Gres Ceramics adds a warm, homey feel. Finally, we chose black-detailed curtains from Editions Vetiver, which frame the room perfectly.

In the bedroom, we focused on soft, ambient lighting. The Schwung Odyssey wall sconces from Lamptwist provide warm bedside light, while the Brera hanging light from the Socialite Family adds elegance overhead. For the shades, we chose Carlina from Madura to soften the light, and finished the closets with Coma handles in brushed brass from La Quincaillerie for a polished look.

The home office features a custom-made desk paired with the Seed chair from Bolia, which is comfortable and stylish. Above the desk, we added the Adrion wall sconce from Schwung for practical, focused lighting.

We went bold in the bathrooms with standout pieces like the vasque from French Vikings and striking wall sconces from Nedgis. The WC also features a French Vikings sink, with the Tribeca wall sconce adding a sophisticated touch. The Pond Mirror from Ferm Living, with its asymmetrical shape, adds a unique character to the space. We chose all faucets and fixtures from Ondyna for their sleek, modern look.

Each piece in this home was chosen with care to create a cohesive yet inviting feel. We hope these design elements inspire you as much as they inspired us. Feel free to explore the links and see how these pieces can fit into your own space!
